The Haight Ashbury Food Program believes it is not enough to feed
people for a day but it is
essential to help people feed themselves and others for a lifetime.
HAFP was founded in 1983 as a neighborhood response to hunger.
HAFP's mission is to
support the principle that freedom from hunger is a right, not a
privilege. We exist to provide
meals, job training, and referral services to those in need while
fostering a sense of belonging
and self worth for all involved. Finally, we are committed to sustaining
a program based on
compassion, respect and empowerment.
